An immersive solution for practising emergency scenarios, developing the right reflexes and enhancing safety training
Virtual reality at the heart of new training methods
At Mondial Secours et Protection 2026, we welcomed Flashgroup as an exhibitor to showcase its innovative solutions for safety and risk prevention to industry professionals. Among the equipment presented, the Elementary virtual reality training kit attracted considerable interest from professional visitors.
Designed for fire safety, evacuation and risk prevention training, Elementary recreates emergency situations in an immersive and interactive virtual environment.
This approach allows users to practise identifying hazards, choosing appropriate actions and following the correct procedures without physically recreating the risks associated with a real-life emergency.
By integrating virtual reality into existing training methods, Elementary offers a new way to approach practical scenarios and develop the essential reflexes needed to respond to emergency situations.
A complete, portable training kit
Elementary brings together all the equipment required to carry out immersive training exercises in a single carrying case. Its design makes the equipment easy to transport, store and deploy across different professional environments.
The kit includes:
- A Meta Quest 3 virtual reality headset, providing access to immersive simulations.
- A replica fire extinguisher, allowing users to practise handling techniques within virtual scenarios.
- Interactive training modules, particularly focused on fire safety and evacuation.
- A carrying case designed to protect the equipment and facilitate transportation.
Measuring approximately 51.5 × 40 × 25.5 cm and weighing between 9 and 9.5 kg in total, the kit features a compact design suitable for use across multiple sites. Its portability makes it suitable for a wide range of professional settings, depending on training objectives and operational requirements.
13 immersive environments to diversify training scenarios
Elementary offers 13 distinct training environments, allowing users to vary their exercises and explore different aspects of emergency management.
Practising fire safety
The simulations allow users to practise identifying different types of fires and selecting appropriate extinguishing methods for the scenarios presented.
Using the replica fire extinguisher, participants can practise handling techniques and apply the methods covered during training.
Practising evacuation procedures
Managing an evacuation requires users to recognise hazards, understand instructions and adopt appropriate behaviours. Virtual scenarios allow participants to practise these skills in a range of simulated situations while developing decision-making abilities and learning to follow established procedures.
Repeating exercises in complete safety
One of the main advantages of virtual reality is the ability to repeat training scenarios in a controlled environment.
Users can repeat exercises, review their actions and improve with each session without being exposed to the physical dangers of a real fire. This repeated practice provides a valuable complement to practical exercises and traditional training, allowing certain scenarios to be explored under consistent, reproducible conditions.
A dashboard to monitor performance
Elementary also features a performance tracking dashboard that allows results to be analysed after each exercise.
Depending on the modules used, performance indicators may include completion time, the effectiveness of actions, identified errors and overall scores.
This data helps trainers understand the results achieved, identify areas for improvement and monitor participants' progress. For professionals supervising training sessions, performance tracking provides additional support for debriefings and for adapting exercises to specific learning objectives.
By combining immersive simulation with performance analysis, the system brings practical training and assessment together within a continuous improvement approach.
What are the benefits of virtual reality for fire safety training?
Integrating virtual reality into training programmes offers several advantages.
- Participants are placed at the heart of scenarios that encourage them to observe, assess situations and take action.
- Repeatable exercises: Training scenarios can be repeated to reinforce learning and practise appropriate responses.
- A controlled environment: Simulations allow participants to explore hazardous situations without physical exposure to the associated risks.
- Performance tracking: Available indicators help trainers analyse results and identify areas for improvement.
- A portable solution: The carrying case makes it easy to transport the equipment and use it in different environments.
Virtual reality does not replace practical exercises, operational training or applicable training requirements. Instead, it serves as a complementary tool for diversifying teaching methods and enhancing emergency preparedness.
